58 Queen Street, Barrie + N12

On Jan 13, 2021 my spouse fell and injured his right shoulder and left knee requiring surgery. The landlord at the time of moving in provided us with a list of issues that he would be fixing in the spring including downspouts as there are none.

We had the landlord attend the property to discuss issues that needed to be rectified including the leveling of the driveway and the downspouts. When we informed him about the surgery he said "should've sued me, I've been sued before". We were dumb founded. He had numerous contractors come for quotes to do the work. He did nothing, on October 6, 2021 the City of Barrie inspected and issued a Notice of Violation. Nothing has been done.

October 14 he listed the property for sale, the realtor set it up so we received ALL texts for confirming or denying showings. We received a text from the realtor informing us that there were a bunch coming who were interested in buying as investment and were going to keep us "if it was the right fit". We pay well under market rent. October 26 received the N12.

We are appealing the LTB decision...
