When the landlord/property manager's family bought the building they tried to evict all tenants but we were saved by a bylaw that doesn't allows 5+ units to be turned in to commercial spaces. For a decade the landlord/property manager tried to get tenants out. I was one of the main people who were very vocal and was given a N12. The property manager suddenly was the landlord and the numbered company was changed so that he was the main holder of the company. He said his daughter needed my apartment despite there being 5 other units and one that was still empty. He went to great lengths to evict me and when we went to court he lost because he had not filled the form out properly and had my address right. 2 months later I gave notice as I couldn't handle the harassment. The apartment continues to sit empty 3 years later.
